Enjoy dental care with flair at Tutbury Dental Practice
I qualified from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1989 with Honours and Distinction. Following my first position in Belper, I joined Tutbury Dental Practice in 1990 and have been instrumental in developing it from a single-handed practice to its current six surgeries. As the current director and principal dentist I have developed a wide and loyal patient following over the years, and have worked hard to build the team and the excellent reputation that our practice now enjoys.
Alongside general dentistry and the treatment of children I have a special interest in smile design and facial makeovers. My ethos of continual development and training has seen me complete the Advanced Restorative Course with Paul Tipton in Manchester in 1997. In 1999 I obtained a Diploma in General Dental Practice and became a fellow Member of the Royal College of Surgeons.
I am very committed to the prevention of dental disease and helping my patients achieve, and thereafter maintain, dental health for life. I am one of only a few UK dentists to have trained at The Dawson Academy studying the management of tooth wear, uncomfortable bites and clicking joints. The Dawson ethos is to create a beautiful natural smile, with the least amount of invasive dentistry possible.
Being a member of the British Academy for Cosmetic Dentistry, I have recently trained with the world famous dentists Ash Parmar and Rahul Doshi of Extreme Makeover television fame at The Perfect Smile Academy in Hertfordshire. The transformation of an ugly smile into a beautiful one can literally have life changing effects. I also have a special interest in facial aesthetics and am fully trained in the advanced techniques for the reduction of lines and wrinkles using Botox and dermal fillers such as Restylane.
I am an experienced provider of adult orthodontics using Six month Smiles, a procedure that enables me to straighten and align teeth without the need for more destructive crowns and veneers. Their realignment, along with whitening and possibly a small amount of a white composite material can give remarkable results in a short space of time.
I also have a special interest in facial aesthetics and am fully trained in the advanced techniques for the reduction of lines and wrinkles using Botox and dermal fillers such as Restylane.

I qualified from Birmingham University with honours and distinction and won five prizes along the way. I have since been admitted to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, having passed the MFDS examinations.
Before joining Tutbury Dental Practice I worked within the maxillofacial department at Derby Hospital and previous to that I worked in general practice in Wolverhampton.

I am originally from the Staffordshire Moorlands and have now settled in Belper with my partner Sara. I have a keen interest in music having taught myself to play the guitar. I also enjoy visiting historic sites and taking advantage of the great outdoors - even completing training in Expedition and Adventure skills on Dartmoor. I am also partial to a bit of music and dancing.
I qualified from Leeds University in 1995 and hold more than 20 years of experience in varying fields of dentistry. I joined Tutbury from our sister practice and I am often complimented on my calming nature and excellent rapport with both adults and children. My aim is to meet your high expectations for customer service and clinical expertise.
I particularly enjoy providing aesthetic restorations, such as white fillings and cosmetic crowns. I am also trained in providing anti-wrinkle facial treatments and love seeing my patients thrilled with their results.
I will be offering a short-term orthodontic treatment at Tutbury Dental Practice called Six Month Smiles, which employs the latest techniques in dentistry to move teeth quickly and safely with clear adult braces.
I get great pleasure from seeing my patients’ delight after their teeth whitening course, but am just as happy performing dental health examinations and providing dentures!
At Tutbury Dental Practice we are all committed to ongoing education to keep abreast of the new developments in dentistry and I regularly attend meetings and courses with my colleagues.
I am originally from Northern Ireland but now live in Duffield with my husband, teenage daughter and twin sons. As a family we love exploring the beautiful countryside around us and going on lengthy walks with our rather large Great Dane. We all love music and there are various musical instruments to be found in our house – some louder than others!
I qualified from Leeds University in 2003 and have more than 11 years of experience. During my dental training, I was awarded Certificates of Merit in oral surgery and orthodontics. I am passionate about dentistry and have completed many postgraduate courses to improve my techniques, most notably in composite dentistry, periodontics, snoring, sleep apnoea and facial aesthetics and I am a fully trained provider of Six Month Smiles, adult cosmetic braces.
I am also fully trained and insured in the treatment of dynamic facial lines (Botox), allowing you to enjoy a younger, fresher appearance for longer.
I have a special interest in restorative dentistry and aesthetic filling materials and I also enjoy working with phobic patients to achieve their goals. My main dental passion is adhesive dentistry (tooth-coloured aesthetic fillings and build ups). This can be used to conservatively replace old discoloured restorations with less drilling, or to build up/recontour front teeth to improve the overall appearance of your smile.
In 2010, I visited Tanzania with the dental charity Bridge2Aid, which provides emergency dental care and makes a lasting change through training.
I am originally from Barton-under-Needwood and have returned to this area to settle with my young family. I have two children and I enjoy visiting local parks and visiting National Trust properties.

I have an interest in minimal intervention for your dental care and I am enthusiastic about my continued professional development with a commitment to ongoing education to keep abreast of all new developments in dentistry.

In 2014 I attended a course in Belgium to learn how to use minimally invasive tooth coloured fillings in an advanced way to give great aesthetic results.
I have also recently undertaken training in the use of dental lasers, which have multiple applications for enhancing outcomes in various treatments including crown and veneer work and periodontal (gum) treatment.
I graduated from the University of Manchester with Honours and Distinction in 2006. I was also fortunate to be an extern at Harvard University. Following various hospital-based training posts, I gained Membership of Royal College of Surgeons.
I returned to private practice across Cheshire and Lancashire whilst completing an MSc in Prosthodontics (replacing missing and worn teeth with implants based and advanced conventional treatments). I joined Tutbury Dental Practice in 2013.
I have travelled the world to learn from leading experts in implantology, aesthetic dentistry and digital dentistry. Dr Buckle invited me to join him in the Dawson Academy as a teaching assistant and mentor.
I focus on working with the latest technologies to provide comprehensive and minimally invasive care for our patients. This ranges from preventative treatments, to managing patients with mouth rehabilitations utilising dental implants.
I have more than 25 years’ experience of treating adults and children. I work alongside all of our dentists to ensure treatment is delivered in a responsive way and I carry out a range of procedures including routine fillings, applying fluoride and fissure sealants and taking dental radiographs.
Keeping your mouth spotlessly clean and your gums healthy is what our superb hygienists do best. The bacterial plaque that builds up between visits will be removed, ridding you of the plaque that contributes to decay, gum disease and bad breath.
Our hygienists, Kerry Seamark RDH (GDC 2778) and Sue Bonsall RDH (GDC 1497), will teach you how improve your oral health routine at home and show you how to use the right inter-dental products for your mouth. The care and advice they provide will prolong the life of your teeth and give you a brighter, fresher, healthier smile. They also provide treatment for sensitive teeth and fissure sealant coatings.
